My name is Mahama Zakiatu (pictured far left); my friends call me Atawa. I live in Damongo, Ghana. It’s the dry season now and our most important resource—water—is hard to find. To survive the season, a group of 10 women (5 widows, 3 divorced, 2 married) with no financial means of their own put pride aside and beg for enough to keep body, soul, and families together. They cannot continue to live this way without meaningful year-round work and dignity. I want to help them and I ask you to join me by making a gift in support of our sustainable farm campaign on GoFundMe.
